Missouri Botanical Gardens 2017 – Spring

We decided our yearly family membership would be to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The boys are old enough to appreciate it and it allows us free entry into the gardens and their sister site in the country which has tons of trail for hiking and exploring.

Since our co-op is on Spring break, I decided to take the boys to the gardens before the winter weather hit.

Everything was in bloom. It was stunning!

Bonus! The orchid show was still on so we stopped in there, first. Not only did they have a bunch of orchids, but they also showcased a lot of vanilla plants.

Alluring

Next was the climatron.

I spy with my little eye….

We really enjoyed a lot of the plants here. We saw a cacao tree, a banana tree, and so much more.

The Chinese Garden was next.

Then on to the Japanese Garden.

This kid!

The koi pond was a huge hit. I’m glad I remembered to take plenty of quarters to feed the fish.

Entranced

By this time, we’d been at the garden nearly two hours and it was starting to drizzle. We made our way to the exit.

The rain picked up as soon as we left and Saturday morning we woke up to snow. I’m so grateful we had this 74-degree day to enjoy with my boys before winter showed her face again.
